Dad.
Ya.
Would you die if you were put in a microwave for 2 minutes?
Yeah, I'm pretty sure. A microwave cooks from the inside out so right away your blood would probably start to gel and then you'd die.
Really? Yuk.
Yeah, yuk.

Dad.
Ya.
What about for 30 seconds. Would that kill you?
I'm not sure, but I'm sure it wouldn't help you.
Hey, maybe the radiation would give you super powers. You know, like Spider-Man!
No, he was bitten by a radioactive spider. Microwaves are different. You'd only end up with microwave powers, and they'd probably be pretty lame.
Like what?
You know, like the ability to pop a bag of popcorn by holding it. Or heat up pizza rolls by waving your hands over them. You'd probably be pretty popular at college parties, but other than that you'd be pretty lame.
Heh. I think it'd be sweet. I could make Ramen noodles like anywhere I was. Like if I was skating somewhere I could just throw em in a bowl with water and they'd be like ready.

Dad.
Ya.
What would happen if you were in a microwave for only 5 seconds. Would that do anything?
Hmm. That's hard to say. Maybe not right away but you'd probably end up with some weird kind of cancer in a few years.
Oh. Well then I guess I won't try it.
Good idea.

That's pretty funny. Well, at least he asked before he did anything!
Wow! You're good with the responses. Can I send my daughter your way when she asks me how metal is made and who were the first people before Mary and Joseph that Jesus didn't make?
What an inquisitive child. Um . . . you don't have any pets, do you?
There was a news story recently about a dad that microwaved his kid. The kid didn't die, but it did damage him.
Now explain to him why you were hunting hookers in the Philippines. I was only fifteen when I lived there, so I couldn't partake. We'll have to joint blog and compare notes sometime.
Good times.
He's quite the little thinker, isn't he?
quick, go get a deadbolt for that hamster! That is, if it's not too late?
wondering if he has been watching the news lately...hm....sometimes I want the questions to stop but I don't think they ever will
yellojkt/badoozie - I hadn't heard of this story until you two mentioned it here. Could there possibly be anything more evil than that?
As a parent you really do have to have quick wit. Kids ask the darnest things.
Jillian
Had a big dinner last week with hubby, son, son's friend and daughter's boyfriend. Let me tell you, the big boy conversations aren't much more evolved. Jess and I just looked at each other in amazement.
linda - What are you trying to say? That was an evolved conversation. I mean microwave technology is a very advanced topic.
LOL! I've actually wondered the same thing.
Heh!! I LOVED this conversation...
Hmmm... that reminds me of one I had with my brother years ago when he was a wee lad...
Check Mama Drama on Tuesday next week!! I have an idea!
...yeah like he'd fit anyway.
Boys! I don't have these types of conversations with my 16 year old daughter, but have had odd ones with 12 year old son.
I like how Austin had the whole Ramen noodle thing figured out. Classic!
I read the same story yellojkt did. Horrible, really.
On a lighter note, I like your responses to his inquiries. Watch, he'll be the first to invent the instant five course meal using a microwave.
This is my second favorite post EVER. The best is still the goldfish stirring.
Kids are so funny and you are a lucky dad or Austin is a lucky kid...either or.
I clicked on the story about the father who put his baby in the microwave---I only hope he gets 99 years in prison!!!!
Sounds like a good time was had by all. I have several incessant, variation on a theme, question askers. They certainly make me think.
If that ain't the cutest thing....
That sounds close to the goofy conversations we used have sitting in a tent on Burtside when we were kids
funkster - Yeah, those summers at the cabin are some of my favorite memories as a kid. I still marvel at some of the things we used do for being so young. Ahh.... good times!
LoL! One question... just how large a microwave *do* you have at home? Or is your kid an accomplished contortionist?
