Today is my wife's birthday and next Saturday is our 17th anniversary.
Nineteen years ago I met my Charli while playing in a St. Louis nightclub. I knew the instant I saw her that she was special. Her gigantic smile just about melted my heart from within.
That same night we sat up and talked until 5 a.m. Then, the next day she joined me for lunch at a local restaurant, but instead of eating our sandwiches we just sat there and stared at each other. The waitress had to come over to our table several times to make sure everything was all right.
Engagement Picture - 1989We dated for two years and married in August of 89. Since that time, Charli has been my best friend, co-parent, business partner and *ahem* "playmate" in all senses of the word :-)
In all this time, I have never once regretted asking her to marry me and actually love her more today than when we met - which I never would have thought was possible.
So to you my sweet love I just want to say...
Happy birthday and anniversary sweetheart - I love you!
Oh, and if you're wondering why I combined these two special occasions into one post? I did it for the readers honey.

Awwwww, that is so sweet. It's very clear how much you care for you wife.
But mate - your forehead in that picture? It needs its own area code, that's all I'm saying. :-)
So are you going back to the Adams Mark and relive old times? That would be a romantic return.
Happy Birthday, Hon. We love you too!!! Hope you are having a wonderful birthday-day!!
Very nice. I think you've improved with age. The eighties were not kind.
mooselet - I was expecting some kind of hairline/forehead comment - but the first one? Congrats, you're the winner!
yellojkt - That would be fun. However, as the club band, we used to get the premium suites as part of the deal. I'm not sure I could afford those suckers, so we'd have to relive the old times in the bargain rooms. Not sure it would have the same effect.
mom - Charli says thanks, and she loves you too.
heather - So you're saying that mullets aren't a good thing?
Happy Birthday to Wifey! And Happy Anniversary too. I know it's just too coincidental, but Saturday is our anniversary too. Our 11th. I heart that cute picture of you two. So much hair! God bless the 80's.
Hey, you said it, not me.
Happy birthday to the Mrs. And Happy Anniversary to you both!
mooselet, LMAO!
Happy Birthday to Charli.
And congrats on 17 years. From what I've read, you both have a lot to be proud of.
My buddy's parents just celebrated 40 years together last week. May you and Charli do the same.
Happy birthday to your bride, and Happy anniversary to both of you.
You know, that's a particularly evil grin you've got going in that picture.
Looks like you're definitely up to something...
Thank you all for the nice comments! Well, mostly nice comments anyway ;-)
kal - I was always up to something in those days! I've settled down now though after 19 years and now am only up to something on even numbered days.
waya - That there was a professional, grade A, first-class mullet of the finest kind! The mullets you see today are nothing but cheap imitations.
Thank you sweetie and Happy Anniversary back at ya!! I'm blushing over here and thanks to everyone for their "Happy Birthday" wishes. We are TRULY lucky to have eachother - thanks for a great 17 years baby.... and it certainly hasn't hurt our relationship that I have great in-laws who love me in spite of my flaws. They always treat me like one of their own and they will never know how much that means and also makes life easier on us as a couple.
Happy belated Birthday, Charli, lookin' good! And congrats on your anniversary next weekend, a great marriage is quite an accomplishment these days! :-)
Happy Birthdaversary to your sweetie!
Happy B-day, Happy Anniversary! You guys have a lot of teeth!
Happy B-day, Congrats on the anniversary, and SO. NOT. FAIR. that you two look so good together.
Not for the rest of us, anyway.
Happy Birthday! And a Happy Anniversary too.
My husband's hair is eerily similar, both in the before and after shots. Nothin wrong with a little forehead showing, just ask Bruce Willis...
you were right about the maximum of honey..
i'm not crying, but there *was* a tear.
it's very sweet.
you both are lucky to have each other. at least it sounds so to me..
